Do you have pottery that I can paint and have fired? Do you have ceramic molds that I can use?
No. We are not a paint-your-own pottery studio. We offer studio space and firing services for people who are creating their work from scratch. We also offer class for people who want to learn how to use a potter's wheel.
I have a girl/boy scout troop (or I am a teacher), and we are doing a clay project. Can we bring in work to be fired?
Fired Up Studios is an adults only, members studio. We are not a good fit for children's groups.
I just want to work the for afternoon, how much would it cost?
We do not offer walk-in services. You must become a member in order to use our studio. If you are interested in just giving pottery a try, please check out our Clay Date classes.
What is the difference between firing and studio memberships?
Studio memberships are for people who need studio space to create their pottery. Firing memberships are for people who have studio space but need kiln access.
If I have a studio membership, do I also need a firing membership for kiln access.
Kiln access is included in studio membership. You do not need both types of membership.
What is the firing membership fee for if I have to pay for the firing? Are glazes included in the cost of membership or the cost of the firing? What if I use my own glazes?
The firing membership fee provides you with 24/7 access to the studio to drop-off work and to use our glazes.
Use of our glazes is included in the cost of both studio and firing memberships. The firing fee covers the cost of loading and firing the kiln and kiln maintenance.
You are welcome to use your own glazes provided they are cone 6 or 10 glazes and have been tested. Use of your own glazes does not preclude the use of our glazes and will not change the cost of membership or firing.
Can I bring in my parent / significant other / friend / child to work with me?
Fired Up Studios is an adults-only members studio. You will be charged a studio access fee (per person) if you wish to have your adult friends or relatives work with you in the studio. They may wait for you in our chat area at no cost, and studio tours are also welcomed. Children are not allowed to work with you in the studio, and should not be left unattended in the chat area.
Can I use my own clay?
You may use any clay that is rated to be fired to cone 6 or 10. You will be charged for damages to the kiln shelves if you use a clay that "melts down" in our firing.
What is the difference between the Last Chance rack and the Snag-It rack?
The last chance rack is where we keep work that is waiting to be picked up. We also use this rack for our lost-and-found. We will hold items for approximately 30 days before moving it to the Snag-It rack. Only take items from the Last Chance rack if it is yours.
Items on the Snag-It rack are free for anyone to take. Items that remain unclaimed for over 30 days will be moved to this rack before being thrown out. We hope most items find a home other than the landfill.
