Classes FAQ
Do you offer children's classes?
Fired Up is an adults-only facility. If you are looking for children's classes, please refer to this list of resources.
When do the next classes start?
Please check the schedule for our upcoming classes.
Can I get a refund if I cancel the class?
If you cancel 1 week prior to the 1st class session, you will be refunded for the class fee minus a $50 administration fee. No refunds will be given after the start of the 2nd class session. If you have extenuating circumstances, please let us know so we can work something out.
What happens if Fired Up cancels a class?
Fired Up Studios would only cancel a class if the class does not meet the minimum enrollment requirement. If Fired Up Studios does cancel a class, you will have the option of a full refund or to transfer your enrollment into another class.
How much open studio time is available?
Open studio time is available during our office hours. If another class is in session, you can use the main studio instead of the classroom to work on your pottery.
24 hour studio access is available for an additional price. Please ask in the office for details.
If I miss a class, can I make it up?
There are no make-up classes. If you know you need to miss a class, please let your instructor know and they can tell you what will be covered in that class. Most of our instructors also arrive early, so you can speak with them about what was covered in a missed class. We encourage students who miss a class to use our open studio time to make up for the lost practice time.
What happens if Fired Up cancels a class meeting?
If a class is canceled due to bad weather or the instructor has to be absent, we will extend classes for one more week to make up the canceled class.
What happens to my work if I do not finish it in class?
We will allow students one week after classes end to finish up work made during the class. Special arrangements can be made if you need more time to finish your work. We will hold work for approximately 30 days before disposing of it.
Should I take Beginning Pottery more than once?
Many of our students enjoy taking our Beginning Pottery classes multiple times. It takes practice to become comfortable with the basics of pottery. Often taking the class multiple times or from different instructors will give you new insight into the process. If you are not comfortable working without an instructor, it is probably a good idea to continue taking the class.
When can I become a studio member at Fired Up Studios?
You may join as a Studio Member if you are currently taking or have taken a Beginning Pottery class, and if you are comfortable working on your own without instruction.
